I have a message for presidential candidates. As 2016 approaches and tempers and emotions run high, you are bound to resort to underhand methods to retain or capture power.
As you get taken up by these crude acts, it is imperative that you ponder the following lessons:
As you feud, remember there is a bigger enemy for Uganda and Africa who acts like a leopard, lion or cheetah approaching to grab one of the male antelopes feuding over a female!
This big enemy has made it clear that it has no permanent enemies or friends but only permanent interests. Do any of you know what those permanent interests are?
Are you aware that long before that enemy spots their next ‘blue-eyed boy’, ‘the new breed of African leaders’ and ‘the beacon of hope for Africa’, they have already started spying on him/her. By the time you get into any dealings with them, they have already used you to dig your own grave in which they will help your opponent(s) bury you when they no longer need you?
Stop feuding immediately and unite to map our a peaceful strategy for 2016 and do not rule out the possibility of bowing out in case things don’t go your way.
Then the leopard, lion or cheetah will be put to shame. Otherwise, you will have yourself or selves to blame for playing into the hands of the monster.
Greg Olupot,
Kampala
