F1 Uganda Association happy with impact of City Tyres promotion

Kajura heads FI Uganda Association.

Apart from people in the motosport fraternity, few outside the sport really know about the existence of the nine-year-old F1 Association of Uganda (F1UG). Consequently, it is why the association’s president Solomon Kajura believes they stand to gain from any kind of activity of the sport in Uganda.

Since the beginning of last month, City Tyres have been running a promotion to have eight Ugandans win tickets to the last Formula One race of the year in Abu Dhabi.

Kajura believes the activity will have a positive impact on the sport in the country.
“To be honest we have not been involved but we are excited that such a promotion comes around. It is an exciting opportunity to grow the sport and increase interest in karting,” he told the Daily Monitor yesterday.

To stand a chance of making the all-expenses paid four-day trip, one must buy four Pirelli tyres, before the end of October, from any City Tyres outlet. A raffle draw is then held every month, in which seven people get goodies from the company while one fortunate customer wins a ticket to the Yas Marina event due November 27, courtesy of Pirelli.

Already, Sowedi Eriasa Kategano will represent Epsilon (U) Limited the winners of the maiden draw held last month.
