TORORO. Police in Tororo District are holding Electoral Commission officials on allegations of ballot stuffing in the just concluded local council elections.
The Bukedi regional police spokesperson, Mr Sowali Kamulya, told Daily Monitor they arrested three officials from different polling stations found to have connived with politicians to rig elections.
“We arrested them after getting reports that they were issuing ballot papers to people who are not voters in the area,” he said.
The trio, according to Mr Kamulya was picked from Akorodong polling station in Malaba, Kidoko central polling stations in Molo Sub-county and Kitafu mosque polling station in Osukuru Sub-county.
