Put humps on dangerous Masaka road, Minister urges govt

By Joseph Kiggundu

State minister for primary education, Rosemary Seninde, has urged government to put humps on every dangerous spot on Masaka road, if they are to save lives of Ugandans who use the road.

Ms Seninde said this during a thanksgiving mass for prof Lawrence Mukiibi, the proprietor of St Lawrence Schools, after returning home following a nasty accident he was involved in near one of his schools last month.

“The government should really come in and help us on this road, even if it means putting humps on the dangerous spots because I think that will reduce the rate at which vehicles get involved in accidents on this road,” Ms Seninde who was also the guest of honor said.

“As the ministry of education we thank God that he is back alive, because, his contribution to our education sector is tremendous,” she added.

Ms Seninde also called about road users to respect other users in order to avoid accidents.

Prof. Lawrence Mukiibi, the proprietor and principal of St. Lawrence Academy, School and colleges was discharged on Sunday evening from Aga khan hospital in Nairobi where he has been receiving treatment and is now out of danger.
