Men and women of pursuit

I love watching weekend football because of the relaxation I get from it after a busy week. Even more, a soccer match is like the game of life. Disappointments will always be there but the beauty therein is the impetus to work harder and strive for excellence that propels you to the top.
Just like a soccer player is written off after a ditch in form only to rediscover his mojo and shame his detractors, never write yourself off no matter the difficulties. It’s the reality of life that some things never work to your advantage but if you stay a 100 percent performer; giving your best, you will discover what makes you tick and capitalise on that to get your big break.

For fans of the English Premier League, the season is at its most thrilling and titillating stage before it’s crowned. Last weekend Watford celebrated getting promoted to play in the Premiership next season after an eight-year absence while Leicester City which had been written off after sitting at the bottom of the Premiership table for a long time bounced out of the relegation zone following four successive wins. This was the first time they have achieved that feat in a single top-flight season since 1966. That’s like Lazarus rising from the dead after 49 years!

It proves that if you keep believing and pressing on towards the mark, it doesn’t matter how long it takes; the tide is guaranteed to turn and you will begin to see positive results and enjoy the rewards of your persistence.
Thus it all comes down to being men and women of desire, courage, faith, pursuit and intensity. The competition may be stiff and the obstacles seemingly overwhelming. But as long as we don’t give up, we shall get to the mountaintop. If you believe it say “Amen!”
