NRM has achieved a lot - Museveni

President Museveni has said the NRM is stronger because of its big achievements.

“For the first time in over 500 years, the entire Uganda is peaceful. This has been achieved under NRM,” Museveni told voters in Buganda sub-region on Friday.

Museveni has been in power for 30 years and is facing seven other challengers in the February 18 elections. He kicked off his campaigns in Buganda on Thursday with rallies in Kiboga and Kyankwanzi districts.

At Bukwiri Primary school, his supporters donated to him cows, goats, sheep and chicken. He also pointed out scarcity of water in Kyankwanzi District and promised to construct valley dams in the area.

Mr Museveni said construction equipment has been secured from Japan to build roads and water sources in districts. He promised to give the equipment to each district to construct their roads and water sources.

The veterans complained about their delayed gratuity which Mr Museveni promised to handle.

“We shall clear the remaining Shs 500 billion because we know it and we shall prioritise it,” he said.

While addressing a rally at Sekanyonyi Primary School, Mr Museveni promised to extend electricity to Namungo sub-county.
