Kinshasa migrating to Kigali

From the time Rwanda realised that their quarterfinal opponents at the 2016 African Championship of Nations (Chan) would be DR Congo, the fast growing African football derby took centre stage particularly in Kigali and Kinshasa.

Congolese fans have been away from home since Day One, turning up in big numbers to cheer their side, who were playing their Group B matches in Huye.

“Just know one thing,” started former journalist and now Amavubi Stars team manager Bonnie Mugabe. “Kinshasa is going to migrate to Kigali. Both sets of fans will be relishing this epic meet.”
Rwanda’s tactician Jonathan McKinsty, too, pumped up the volume ahead of the clash. “I urge all Amavubi fans to ensure they buy their tickets early. We want them to fill Amahoro to capacity,” said the 30-year-old tactician.

Ticket prices for the game have been increased as those of the other quarterfinals remain the same. Fans will have to part with Rwf20,000 (about Shs100,000) for the VVIP, Rwf10,000 (Shs50,000) for the VIP, Rwf5,000 (Shs25,000) for the covered stands and Rwf1,000 (about Shs2,500) for open stands.
