The hearing of a case intended to compel the police to produce Mr Amama Mbabazi’s head of security Christopher Aine, was yesterday deferred to March 22.
The case had been scheduled for hearing yesterday before the High Court but the Attorney General (AG) was not represented in the case. Aine’s lawyer, John Mary Mugisha, explained to trial judge Lydia Mugambe Ssali that the last time court was to convene and hear the case on February 16, was a public holiday in remembrance of late Archbishop Janan Luwum..
He said that court on its own, fixed yesterday as a hearing without notifying the AG, an omission he said led to the no show of the AG’s representatives.
To that effect, justice Mugambe deferred the hearing to March 22 at 2.30pm with counsel Mugisha promising to inform the AG about the new hearing date.
