You do not have to wait to find meals such as this in the hotel when you indulge with fancy dinning. You can make them at home.
Here is how you can go about making pumpkin soup for example.
Ingredients
1 kg pumpkin, peeled & diced 1 large onion, sliced
3 medium potatoes, peeled & diced 1 tsp cinnamon
2 large carrots, peeled & diced 2 cloves garlic, grated
3 tbsp butter/margarine 1 chicken stock cube, crumbled
½ litre milk
2 tbsp maize flour
Method
1. Heat the butter or margarine and fry the onion and garlic until
soft. Add the cinnamon, stock cube, Aromat and the carrots, pumpkin and potatoes. Cook stirring for 3 mins.
2. Mix the maize flour with a little water and add to the vegetables,
stir well add a little more water and bring to the boil, stirring. Add the milk and a little water. Cook stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender. Set aside 5-6 tbsp of the vegetables.
3. Blend or mash the rest of the vegetables with a little of the
sauce. Return to the pan, bring to the boil and then simmer stirring for 3 mins. Re-heat and add the vegetables you had put aside before serving.
