End of the first half of the year is drawing nearer. As you look back, you notice how faster 2016 is ticking away. Therefore, use this time to review performance with an eye for improvement. Assess progress made by every individual employee on all targets. This will give a manager an opportunity to make some recommendations, including for improving staff productivity.
Start afresh. Recognise failures and create an opportunity to start anew with vigour. Forget the past; rid yourself of office politics, say no to blackmail and personal wars. It is useless to devote your energies on trivial and worthless matters lest you reap anger and hatred, which are both potential ingredients for poor employee performance.
Hit the road running like an athlete would during a competition. Just know that you are engaged in a competitive race where victory is a must. A seasoned business executive knows very well what it means to sign a mega deal. But this comes with proper planning and not waiting to blame others.
Knowing your internal strength is a critical aspect. Determine what you are good at and work towards doing a smart job. Don’t brag about what you are good at; instead keep contributing even when you are not recognised.
Speaking conceitedly about your personal accomplishments can be tempting but a tricky thing in a sense that it deters team spirit and does not offer colleagues an opportunity to improve performance. As such, it should be avoided.
Time management is one aspect worth considering. It compliments a good strategy-it informs results for every decision made. There will be a time for sharing with co-workers and working to contribute productively. If you choose to spend more time attacking others and less on ensuring that your individual targets are met, that is your choice. Manage time better.
