Scrap Buyers look to pull away on weekend of derbies

KAMPALA. Three derbies headline this weekend’s Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) Senior League as unbeaten Scrap Buyers and Hotpool look to tear away from the chasing pack.
The pair hold a three-point advantage over the champions Skin Samona, who are third with 15 points on the 16 team log. Scrap Buyers, however, seem to have the more difficult fixture on paper against fourth-placed CKI, who share Lumas Inn, Namirembe Road as their home venue.
On-form Wasswa Kayiya and decider-taker Artman Kabubi will lead Scrap Buyers’ striking line in what is expected to be a tension-packed encounter.

Both players have experience and were influential in the club’s past three matches including a 20-5 walloping of Red Shooters last weekend. CKI, on the other hand, will look to Pool Cranes star Sula Matovu and the club’s gifted play-makers Musa Sekiliba and Muto Mansoor for victory.
The champions Skin Samona travel to Royal Complex to face unpredictable Indigo Pool Club, who were hammered by Nyendo’s T&O/Klein Pool Club in the last round. The other fixtures include the Ntinda derby between Rock Catalina, who host, newly-promoted Maga Pool Club.
