KYENJOJO: Police deployed heavily at Kyenjojo hospital on Monday the day Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye was to campaign in the area leaving patients in fear.
“Today most of us feared to go to hospital due to the police deployment at the entrance the whole day,” a lady reported to Mr Besigye at Kyenjojo SS playground where he addressed a rally on Monday evening.

In response, Mr Besigye said, “Yes, now government hospitals are like army barracks, they are guarded After I visited Abim hospital last week, we know there are no doctors, drugs and beds in most government hospitals.”

Besigye and FDC President Mugisha Muntu were forced to hold two parallel rallies in Kyenjojo district just to catch up with time and complete their day’s program in Kyegegwa and Kyenjojo.
“We were given 90 days by Electoral commission to campaign in 112 districts, therefore we are forced to campaign in two districts in a day,” Besigye explained at his last rally in Kyenjojo town.

Both in Kyegegwa and Kyenjojo rallies, several people believed to be NRM supporters surrendered their party cards to Besigye.
After the rally, Daily Monitor sought views from residents who attended the rally.
“Health officers at the government hospitals, especially in Kyenjojo demand money for services like testing for HIV they charge us Shs50,000, TB Shs 10,000 and other ailments Shs7, 000 to Shs 20,000 but when I went to Mulago National Refferal Hospital I got free services” said Mr Tony Masaba.
