Court remands maid for sexually molesting five-year-old boy

City Hall Magistrate’s Court has further remanded a 22-year-old house help over sexually molesting a five-year-old boy she was hired to look after.

KAMPALA. City Hall Magistrate’s Court yesterday further remanded a 22-year-old house help over sexually molesting a five-year-old boy she was hired to look after.
Ms Christine Nakato is charged with one count of aggravated defilement contrary to Section 129 (3) (4) (a) of the Penal Code Act.
Court earlier on declined to allow her to take plea since a Magistrate’s Court has no jurisdiction to try her case as it is capital in nature.

The court presided over Mr Moses Nabende ordered Ms Nakato to return to Luzira prison after the prosecutor, Ms Pamela Orogot, informed court that her file is still with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Police records indicated that Ms Nakato had lived with her victim’s family since 2012 as a house help.
Her troubles stem from an incident in which the victim’s parents asked their three children to feel free to tell them any problem that they were facing.

The victim told his mother that whenever he returned from school, the maid sexually abused her.
Prosecution contends that on September 20 at Kyanja Walufumbe in a Kampala suburb, Ms Nakato performed sexual acts with the five-year-old.
The trial magistrate adjourned the matter to December 29 for committal to the High Court once inquiries are complete.

Meanwhile, the same court has remanded two men over attempted rape. The accused Moses Ndahayo, a boda boda cyclist, and John Bosco Niyonzima purportedly committed the crime on November 26.
The State contends that the duo at Kyebando on the Northern By-pass, a city suburb, attempted to perform sexual acts with Sarah Birungi, also a resident of the area.

Ndahayo is independently charged with rape of Fortunate Nyinamugisha who heard Birungi screaming and came to her rescue.
Court adjourned the matter to December 28 for mention as investigations continue.
