KABALE
A forty year old man has been remanded to Ndorwa government prison in Kabale district over allegations that he cut the ears of his wife whom he accused of failure to listen to his advice.
The Kabale Chief Magistrate Samuel Moses Kagoda on Monday heard from the prosecution led by the senior resident state attorney Mr Batson Baguma that on July 22, while at Kakabano village Upper Bugongi Kabale municipality Gerald Twesigomwe used a sharp knife to cut off the two ears of his wife Ms Dianah Ninsiima.
According to the charge sheet, Twesigomwe has been charged with attempted murder contrary to section 204 (a) of the penal code act and doing an act intended to cause grievous harm of unlawful wounding.
Twesigomwe pleaded not guilty to the offence before he was remanded till August 22 when his case shall be in court for further hearing as the state prosecutor Mr Batson Baguma said that investigations into the matter were still going on.
Twesigomwe previously told friends that he cut off the ears of his wife because she was not listening to his advice although he denied the statement after he was arrested by the police.
