Leicester to maintain advantage

Mohamed Elneny has looked sharp and strong for Arsenal with his best ability seeming to be his high level of energy. AGENCIES PHOTO

The irony in this fixture is that Spurs manager is trying to win the EPL title using the football module Jurgen Klopp used at Dortmund with great success. Expect a full pitch pressing game, with quick transitions, no holds barred tackling and speed. I think Klopp will show Mauricio Pochettino he is the master of this style. A draw beckons.

Aston Villa 1 Chelsea 2
Relegation certainties Villa must quickly find a caretaker after Remi Garde became the club’s second managerial casualty. The former European champions have not been well run, with a string of poor signings putting the club at the precipice. Chelsea are bound to compound their misery.

West Ham 2 C. Palace 1
Alan Pardew needs a win from somewhere to stave off the pressure that comes from a 13-game winless run. But Upton Park is not a place for faint hearted sides. Dmitri Payer, Andy Carroll and Emmanuel Emenike will put Palace to the sword. Home win.

Man Utd 1 Everton 1
Never completely write the Red Devils off. Just when I thought they were down and out, they went to the Etihad and delivered a masterpiece. Sadly for them, goalkeeper David de Gea is their only world class player. Everton are a good away side, so they are primed to grab something from Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Bournemouth 2 Man City 2
Manchester City’s decline from title favourites after the opening five games to Europa League candidates is startling. While the announcement of Pep Guardiola’s imminent arrival has been blamed, the rot had started with injuries to Vincent Kompany and especially Kevin de Bruyne. City don’t travel well so I am going for thrilling stalemate.

Leicester 2 Southampton 1
Title-chasing Leicester City face a potential banana skin when they come up against Ronald Koeman’s unpredictable Saints. But striker Jamie Vardy, midfielders Danny Drinkwater and work-horse Ngolo Kante will bring their excellent form from the internationals into this English Premier League game. Verdict? Narrow win.

Sunderland 1 West Brom 0
Sam Allardyce is desperate for three points whereas West Brom are almost certainly safe from relegation. I fancy Jermaine Defoe to provide the difference in this tightest of games. I am going for a narrow home win.

This is Arsenal’s last chance to show they still have interest in the EPL title. Gunners fans will be counting on Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to help avenge the FA Cup loss to Quinque Sanchez Flores’ excellent Hornets three weeks ago. I think Arsenal are better equipped to return from the disruptive international break.

Norwich 0 Newcastle 1
You would back Rafa Benitez to outwit a relative newcomer like Alex Neil in a must win relegation six pointer like this, wouldn’t you? I am going for Newcastle United to pull the rabbit out of the hat on account of their managers’ tactical nous. This is my hardest call of the weekend.

Stoke City 3 Swansea 1
Mark Hughes’ Potters are good enough to beat any team but they flatter to deceive too often. That said, the frenzied speculation over who will be in charge at the Liberty Stadium next season points to a cast iron Stoke City win.
