Prior to the event, there is a boat cruise and an award ceremony to recognise women doing exceptional work in their communities.
The programme at the National Theatre on Women’s Day kicks off at 2pm and ends at 11pm. Entrance fee will be Shs5,000. Among the activities will be poetry, music, dance, drama, comedy, among other things.
Education background
Nsigaye studied and completed her primary education at Kampala Primary School in 1988 before joining Bugema Adventist Secondary School for O’Levels, and St Peters High School, Jinja, for A’Levels. where she finished senior six in 1995.
She went on to pursue a Diploma in Journalism at the Institute of Business and Media Studies at Old Kampala and graduated in 1998 before eventually enrolling for an Associate Degree in Democracy and Development in Nkozi University (2003– 2005).
She upgraded her credentials with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication at St Lawrence University (2009 to 2011).
Nsigaye has previously held stints in different media houses including WBS, UTV before it became UBC and Daily Monitor. This was before co-founding Native TV in 1999, which specialises in making film and documentaries.
Family
The 41- year-old has four children aged 16, 14, 12 and 10.
