Independent Presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi has said his sub-county based model, laid out in his manifesto is the only plan that will be decisive in the fight against poverty at household level.
Mr Mbabazi, who was speaking at Kaseremu in Kapchorwa, said he has a “unique” manifesto from those of his opponents and “it will create the Uganda the people desire once he is elected as president in the 2016 general election.
He also castigated the President’s pledge to provide three hoes per household as a strategy that takes Uganda backwards to the 18th century
He said he would restore Cooperative Unions to manage people’s agricultural products at every sub-county adding: “When a farmer brings his agricultural products at sub-county level, he would be issued with a receipt and this receipt will be security for a rural farmer to access funds at a community bank which we intend to introduce in the first year of my reign,” said Mbabazi,

At Boma grounds in Kapchorwa Mbabazi said he would improve the salaries of teachers, medical workers and police within the first year by cutting state house funding from Shs265b to Shs100b. He promised to end police brutality in the first 100 days of his being in office, saying that the police force can only be good if it works well with the people.
