Receiving the cash
The money was delivered by Ms Molly Kamukama, an aide to President Museveni, and given to victims in the presence of Ntungamo RDC Justine Mbabazi, the Ntungamo municipality MP Yona Musinguzi, the political assistant to Ms Janet Museveni, Mr George Bakunda, and Ms Susan Kasingye, the head of political and electoral crimes desk in Uganda Police.
“We were called to the RDC’s office and given the money, they did not tell us what to do with it, but I realised it is supposed to cater for our treatment and upkeep,” said Mr Benon Byaruhanga, one of the beneficiaries.
Mr Gordon Musinguzi, another victim, confirmed having received the money.
Ntungamo RDC Justine Mbabazi acknowledged that the victims received the money, calling it a token from the President to the sick that does not require publicity.
