At any fashion show models with admirable physiques strut the runway. Last Saturday, however, was a different scenario at the Global Goal Ten Hot Pink catwalk fashion show held at Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) showgrounds Lugogo multipurpose hall.
There were your usual tall models with muscular appeal who had to blend with those with disabilities such as albinos, amputees, and those with severe body burns.
Renowned designers including K- Rafael, Gloria Wavamunno, Martha Jabo, Ras Kasozi, and Kwesh showcased their work.
The event was organised by Malengo Foundation, a partner initiative model management that provides inclusion of persons with disabilities (PWDs) on various fashion and advertising platforms. The show centered on the theme, “Fashion for reduced inequalities, empowering PWDs.”
